The Prünster family has been greeting its guests for more than 120 years in an historic 3 stars hotel, located in an enviable position above the Merano plain. This historic building was an important point to observe the important events which took place here; on this terrace took place one of the last battles for the liberty of Tyrol. The old Mediterranean cypress would tell much more about Merano and surroundings; it was planted by our great-grandfather, the founder of the Gilf Promenade, the Imperial Consuellor Dr. Hans Prünster in 1898, to feast the 50th anniversary of reign of Emperor Francis Joseph I.
Since 2010 the "Mair am Ort" hotel is the first dogs hotel in South Tyrol. We are aware of our long family tradition and we continue to run our hotel, to let you and your pets spend unforgettable holidays in the surroundings of Merano.
